Camp 1831 is the perfect way to start your journey at The University of Alabama. It is a three day, two night program filled with activities centered around four main themes: adventure, leadership, service, and history & tradition. This experience is all about getting comfortable on campus, developing friendships, learning about UA culture, and having fun! You will leave Camp 1831 confident and ready to begin life at the Capstone.

Camp 1831 takes place on the campus of The University of Alabama in a variety of student centered facilities including the Ferguson Student Center, Student Recreation Center, academic buildings, and Quad.
Camp 1831 is designed for first-year students (Freshman and Transfer Students) admitted for summer or fall 2019.
Those going through sorority recruitment should plan to attend Session 1 of Camp 1831 (August 7 – 9, 2019). Sorority Convocation will take place after Camp 1831 finishes on Day 3 of Session 1.
Traditionally, the Million Dollar Band has commitments on Day 3 of Session 1, so you will need to make accommodations for the conflict. You may contact our office for information about possible accommodations. Please note Camp 1831 has a no refund policy once payment is made.
You will want to confirm participation dates, but traditionally, these activities begin following Session 1 of Camp 1831. Therefore, you could possibly attend Session 1 of Camp 1831 followed by participating in an additional early move-in activity. Please note Camp 1831 has a no refund policy once payment is made.
The cost for Camp 1831 is $175 and includes meals, a Camp 1831 t-shirt, Camp 1831 supplies, and transportation for camp related events. Note there are no refunds once payment is made.

Camp 1831 fees are non-refundable. There will be no refunds once payment is made, even if a student cancels their registration.

The site can be accessed through the Registration Tab on the Camp 1831 page. Registration will require you to log-in to myBama. Note that you must be registered for Bama Bound (new student orientation) to register for Camp 1831. Once registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email to your Crimson email account.
Camp 1831 registration will close once sessions are full or Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
No. The registration system will only allow you to register yourself for Camp 1831. Please encourage your friends to register themselves using their myBama information.
If a change needs to be made to your auto-populated information, please make the appropriate changes on your myBama account. To make changes, visit www.mybama.ua.edu and click on the Student Tab. From there, go to the Banner Self-Service section and click on Personal Information for change options.

Students who live on-campus will be able to walk to all Camp 1831 sessions. Students living off-campus will receive specific information regarding parking on campus. All students must check-in at the Ferguson Center on Camp 1831 session days.
You will sleep at your regular place of residence. For students living on-campus, you will be able to move-in early at your residence hall and will sleep in your room each night. For students living off campus, you will need to make accommodations for your living arrangements. If you are unsure of your options, please contact our office.
There will be no visitors allowed at Camp 1831. Camp 1831 is for registered students only.
No. You are encouraged to not use your phone during camp. All cell phones will be put away during camp and will not be allowed during camp activities.

The University of Alabama does not require and is not responsible for lodging prior to Camp 1831 sessions. However, if you are moving on campus for Fall 2019, you will be eligible for early move-in. Please indicate your intention to live on-campus for Fall 2019 when registering, and you will receive more information via email.

Housing and Residential Communities will allow you to move-in early before your camp session. For Session 1, early move-in will occur on August 6, 2019, and for Session 2, early move-in will occur on August 9, 2019. For both sessions, early move-in will be restricted to specific time slots.
Please note, Bryant Hall will not be available for early move-in so be aware when you select your residence hall room. If you choose to live in Bryant Hall, you will be housed in a temporary assignment during Camp 1831 then be able to move to Bryant Hall on Saturday, August 17, 2019.
Yes, you will schedule a move-in time in June 2019.
If you live on-campus, you should park your car in your residential zone. For students who live off-campus, you will receive communication about parking to your Crimson Email. Please visit the Transportation Services Site for information about parking and transportation on campus.
Arrive on campus in time to park and get to Check-In. Check-In is at 8:30 a.m. at the Ferguson Center Great Hall on the first day of your camp session (August 7, 2019 and August 12, 2019).
Bring your Action Card to Check-In at the Ferguson Center Great Hall at 8:30 a.m. on the first day of your camp session. A Daily Supply List is available on the Participant Information page with additional suggested items to bring.
